SIRA approved osteopaths in NSW
Osteopaths provide hands-on manual therapy for the musculoskeletal injuries common in work claims, treating joints, muscles and connective tissue to reduce pain and restore movement. Under the NSW scheme an osteopath can be an approved treater, funded to treat your injury and report on your functional capacity, provided they hold current AHPRA registration and SIRA approval. The register of SIRA approved osteopaths is considerably smaller than physiotherapy, so approved options are more concentrated in metropolitan Sydney and you may need to travel a little further than you would for a physiotherapist. As with any treater, osteopathic care under workers compensation is focused on function and return to normal activity, not open-ended treatment, and your osteopath will document progress against the goals in your recovery plan. If you are unsure whether osteopathy or another allied health pathway suits your injury, your nominated treating doctor can help you decide.
Is there a list of osteopaths for NSW workers compensation?
Yes. We list 6 SIRA approved osteopaths as a sample here, drawn from the public SIRA register and covering 5 suburbs (Sydney, Chatswood, North Sydney, Parramatta, Penrith). This is a labelled sample, not the whole register. Profiles show name, suburb and discipline only. Confirm a provider's current SIRA approval before you engage them.

Not sure which provider you need?
An allied health treater delivers hands-on treatment for your injury; a workplace rehabilitation provider coordinates your return to work. Read the guides, or tell us your situation and we will point you the right way.
